Swindon Town have signed Aston Villa midfielder Aidan Borland on loan and agreed a new contract with Gavin Kilkenny. Borland, 18, has made six EFL Trophy appearances for Villa's under-21 side and will stay at the County Ground for the rest of the season. He has represented Scotland at various age-group levels and also appeared in last season's FA Youth Cup final when Villa beat Manchester City 3-1. Kilkenny, meanwhile, will remain with Swindon Town until 2028, having signed a new two-and-a-half-year contract. Swindon said the new deal represented "a significant piece of long-term planning," as Kilkenny is a "valued member of the dressing room."
