Air India wants to do a debt restructuring: Ashwani Lohani

Air India chairman Ashwani Lohani says apart from the huge debt on the airline’s books, debt servicing is one of the major challenges. All this will culminate in restoring the lost glory (of Air India). As against a projection of Rs8 crore, Air India turned in a higher Rs108 crore profit at the operating level last year. It is primarily doing Air India’s work—more than 90-95% work is Air India. Air India alone has 13,000 to 14,000 employees; including other companies it will be 23,000 to 24,000.
