A report to the UK Airprox Board, which investigates near misses, said the pilot saw an “orange light” above the plane as he was coming in to land. The crew thought it may have been a drone but it could not be identified and was officially classed an “unknown object”. The board said that the A320 pilot had reported that he was three nautical miles from the runway when the crew “spotted an orange light ahead and slightly above, which appeared to be travelling in the opposite direction”. The report added: “The light passed about 100-200ft…
