Al Ahly crown Handball Egypt's Cup by beating Zamalek 26-23


CAIRO, 25 April 2021: Mohamed Essam El-Tayyar, Al-Ahly's goalkeeper, led his team to win the Egypt Handball Cup, for the eighth time in Al Ahly history, by beating Zamalek 26-23. Al-Ahly avenged their defeat a few days ago in the deciding match for the league title, when Zamalek won 18-17. Al-Ahly advanced in the first half by a difference of 5 goals in the middle of it, but the half ended with a 4-goal difference for Al-Ahly. In the second half, El-Tayyar shone dazzlingly, and dealt with 4 penalty shots, which were alternated by Ahmed Al-Ahmar, Yahya Al-Daraa, Akram Yusri and Omar Al-Wakeel. Although Zamalek is close to achieving a comeback with the second half half, but the brilliance of the pilot and Al-Ahly's defense secured Al-Ahly's victory by a 3-goal difference in the end, 26-23.
