Workshops focusing on health and nutrition and raising awareness of the effects of vaping were delivered to pupils at an Islamic supplementary school in Slough last month. The session also explored nutrition and exercise and pupils were shown how making their favourite foods at home could make a difference to their health. A religious perspective was also explored in the session, discussing how values and faith teach people to care for their bodies, environment, health and the health of others. Dr Rizvana Ali from Healthality, who led the scientific and medical aspects of the workshops, said: "Health promotion and education requires more time and investment by all stakeholders-parents, educators and health professionals. “We believe that such workshops should continue across all educational establishments in order to protect our children and secure their futures.”
