Libya’s Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense, Salah Al-Namroush, has confirmed the continued support of the Turkish government for the Government of National Accord (GNA). In a statement after his meeting with the Turkish Minister of Defense, Hulusi Akar, and Chief of General Staff, Yasar Gular, in Tripoli on Friday, Al-Namroush said the Turkish support will continue in the security and defense capability-building programs, which were included in the framework of the memorandum of understanding signed between both countries last November. Al-Namroush added that training centers are to be erected to build a professional Libyan army, pointing out that coordination would take place between the defense ministries of both countries in the fields of training and redevelopment.
