By Cecilia ButiniSwiss eye-care company Alcon Inc. on Wednesday posted a swing to profit for the third quarter on higher sales. The company said net profit was $2 million, up from a net loss of $147 million a year earlier, on sales that grew to $2.08 billion from $1.82 billion. Operating income was $20 million, compared with an operating loss of $129 million a year earlier, Alcon said. Internationally, recovery from the pandemic took place at varied paces, according to Alcon.
