After a tweet from a woman in Ghaziabad on Friday about a man threatening to commit suicide, the UP Police sprang to action and prevented the man from taking the extreme step. “I immediately posted a message in the group and persuaded him not to go ahead with the suicide. Immediately, I sent a tweet to @Uppolice and also sent them Vasim’s number in order to help him out,” Meenakshi said. After talking to him at length, I persuaded him not to take such a step and told him about the repercussions. Finally, after counselling, Vasim gave it in written that he will not think about taking such a step in the future.
