Chelsea are concerned Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is getting cold feet over a proposed £35 million move as the player waits to see whether Arsenal are prepared to also consider doing business with Liverpool. Oxlade-Chamberlain prefers the idea of a switch to Anfield, and playing in a favoured midfield role under Jürgen Klopp, to a transfer to the champions. Liverpool were told earlier in the summer by Arsenal that they would not do business with a rival, but if there is a softening of that stance now that an agreement has been struck with Antonio Conte’s side then they will match the bid for the 24-year-old.
