Current presenter Dan Walker is leaving the show after 12 years in the role and Scott had been widely tipped as his replacement. Scott becomes the first female host of the Saturday lunchtime show, which has been a BBC staple throughout the football season ever since 1974. Following confirmation, in a message to viewers she declared: "I just wanted to send a quick message to let you all know how excited and honoured I am to be announced as the new Football Focus host. "I will try to bring my best self to that Football Focus chair and we're going to have some fun, so thank you and I will see you all in August, in the Football Focus chair."
