A pop-up toy shop raising money for a charity supporting children with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions and their families has returned. Organised by volunteers, Alexander Devine's Pop-up Shop opened its doors on Thursday, November 9 at the former CEX unit inside the Nicholsons Shopping Centre. The event raises more than £20,000 for the children’s hospice service and will be open from 9.30am to 4.30pm every Thursday, Friday and Saturday for six weeks, finishing on Saturday, December 16. Through the spring pop-up toy shop, which took place earlier this year, more than £21,000 was raised. Anne Bajorek, director of fundraising at Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service, said: “What a perfect opportunity to support your local children’s hospice while picking up some bargains for Christmas.
