Ethiopia's industrial parks being constructed all over the country will go fully operational in the new Ethiopian year that begins September 11, 2020, the Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC) announced. As of now, seven of the 12 industrial parks are operational. Deribe Debele, IPDC's Marketing and Communication head, said the construction of industrial parks is intended to boost Ethiopia's economy. When the industrial parks go fully operational, they will help speed up the economic growth, and enhance technology transfer throughout Ethiopia, Mr. Deribe explains.
