Allegheny County Health Department announced Friday it had issued a $458,225 penalty to United States Steel Corp. over what the agency said were emissions violations at the Clairton Coke Works. ACHD said the penalties were calculated under a 2019 settlement agreement between it and U.S. Steel (NYSE: X) and were due to alleged violations of air pollution control at the Clairton Coke Works during the first quarter of 2022.
