Massimiliano Allegri is preparing to accept Napoli's offer to replace Gennaro Gattuso as boss, but only if Real Madrid declare they are no longer interested in him, according to reports in Italy. Napoli will seal a Champions League place for next season providing they match or better Juventus' result against Bologna when they take on Verona on Sunday. But current boss Gattuso's relationship with president Aurelio De Laurentiis has been tense for several weeks and is now seen as beyond the point of repair. Allegri and Madrid legend Raul have emerged as the frontrunners should Zidane depart the Santiago Bernabeu, but should the club inform the Italian he is not an option they want to pursue, he will reportedly accept Napoli's offer. The north London side have been without a permanent manager since sacking Jose Mourinho last month, with Ryan Mason filling in as interim boss.
