The much talked about Alphonso Armah Youth Football Tournament yesterday kicked off at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) with four out of the 12 teams securing wins in their first group stage matches. In the day’s first encounter between Monrovia Football Academy (MFA) and Bassa Community FC, MFA through skillful attacker Prince Toe came from a goal down to force Bassa Community FC to a 1-1 draw in Group A. In the second Group A match, both Sam Johnson Foundation and Paynesville Young Stars (PYS) failed to find the back of the net after a goalless draw. In today’s fixtures, Monrovia Football Academy will face Paynesville Young Stars, while Bassa Community FC will go against Sam Johnson Foundation. In Group C, CT United Academy went on top after a 2-0 victory against Ambassadors FC.
