Executives at the online retailer will argue the merits of their plan with Allan Daly and David Hughes, who said that the proposed centre would use too much electricity. The hearing will take place at An Bord Pleanála’s headquarters on September 26. Amazon plans to build a data centre in Mulhuddart, north Dublin, and has told Fingal county council that it could build seven more data centres on the 64-acre IDA-owned site. The company’s web services division has other data centres in Dublin but its latest plan, called “Project G”, is its most ambitious to date in Ireland.
