The three Israeli hostages could not have signaled better that they posed no threat. Human rights activists say the hostages’ deaths show that at least some IDF soldiers were too quick to shoot. The Izzedine al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’ military wing, announce attacks on Israeli forces across the Gaza Strip in daily press conferences on its Telegram channel. He described Hamas fighters emerging from a tunnel into a room where Israeli soldiers were sleeping.
