American airport to launch first passenger service in 30 years with daily flights from 2026

AN American airport is set to welcome its first commercial passenger flights in 30 years, with daily service launching in 2026. SkyWest Airlines, a regional carrier flying under the United Express brand, announced the new daily flights on Tuesday. Flights will run to and from George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, one of United Airlines’ largest hubs. Natchez Mayor Dan Gibson said the city has been trying to restore airline service since 2021, ABC affiliate KNOE reported. An independent study released by Visit Natchez predicts the new airline service will bring in more than 10,000 passengers within the first 12 to 18 months.
