The upcoming Disney film Beauty and the Beast, a remake of the iconic 1991 Disney film of the same name, happens to have a gay character. In the upcoming version of Beauty and the Beast, Le Fou is shown as being gay. This has not gone down well with one American film theatre (as of now) and it has decided to not screen Beauty and the Beast. The Henagar Drive-In Theare in Alabama announced on its now-inaccessible Facebook page that it would not be screening Beauty and the Beast because it has a gay character. Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson, Dan Stevens and Luke Evans releases in American theatres on March 17.
