Food, Fisheries and Livestock, and Agriculture Minister Mohammad Amin Ur Rashid spoke at a view-sharing meeting with officials at the Khaddo Bhaban conference room in the city. He underscored the dual responsibility of the Directorate General of Food to ensure a steady food supply while simultaneously guaranteeing the safety of all consumables. A pivotal component of the Minister’s vision involves the modernization of the Bangladesh Safe Food Authority to meet international benchmarks. The Minister stated that by enhancing the capacity of the Bangladesh Food Safety Authority, the government aims to achieve certification standards equivalent to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (USFDA). The meeting also heard from State Minister for Food, Fisheries and Livestock, and Agriculture Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, MP, who highlighted the critical importance of food security and the eradication of food adulteration.
