ORLANDO, Fla. — Amid the notoriety of the deadliest shooting in U.S. history, there’s no private space to grieve. A 10-minute walk down the road, family and friends outside the Orlando Regional Health Centre sought a moment’s piece. Pierre Zevallos said he “wanted to contribute because I’m a veteran” of the Iraq war, as he doled out water. “I just need a second, please” he said, as the sounds of four helicopters hovering overhead echoed over the din. “Today our hearts cry out in unity,” it read in purple and red paint surrounded by yellow, crimson and violet hand prints.
