The research team found every 66g increase in consumption cut diabetes risk by a quarter. Eating two or more servings a week - when compared with less than one serving a month - was associated with a 21 per cent lower risk for oatmeal, a 15 per cent lower risk for added bran, and a 12 per cent lower risk for brown rice and wheat germ.
