CAIRO – 15 July 2020: The Archaeological Committee, headed by the Director General of Qena Antiquities, has completed the work of examining the ancient stone wall in Nagaa Hamadi. The ancient wall was discovered by the Tourism and Antiquities Police when they arrested four individuals who were carrying out surreptitious digging in the "Ho" area of Nagaa Hamadi. The Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities recommended conducting rescue works for excavation sites in the area, as soon as investigations are completed. The area where surreptitious digging was carried out by the four individuals is located about 200 meters from the shrine of the goddess Hathor in the “Ho” district of Nagaa Hamadi. It represents the seventh region of the ancient Egyptian regions.
