Andrew McCabe, the former FBI deputy director and a frequent target of Donald Trump, has been fired less than two days before he was due to retire. In a statement, Sessions said he was terminating McCabe’s employment immediately upon a recommendation from the FBI’s Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR). In his tweet, Trump wrote: “Sanctimonious James Comey was his boss and made McCabe look like a choirboy. Due to his abrupt dismissal, McCabe is expected to lose hundreds of thousands of dollars in pension.
