Andy Carroll has left Newcastle following the expiration of his contract, head coach Steve Bruce has confirmed. The 32-year-old rejoined Newcastle in 2019 but scored just once in the Premier League from a total of 37 appearances. "I think Andy thinks it's time that he goes and plays," Bruce told Sky Sports News when asked about Carroll's future. There are set to be further outgoings too, with defender Florian Lejeune expected to complete a permanent move to Alaves, following a loan spell with the Spanish club last season.
