'The Viking' was preparing for a return to the oche in next year's World Seniors Darts Championship but died on Thursday morning with his wife, Jenny, by his side. Fordham triumphed in the 1999 Winmau World Masters before winning the 2004 BDO World Championship by defeating Mervyn King in the final, his greatest career achievement. After claiming his world title, he was involved in 'The Showdown' with Phil 'The Power' Taylor, broadcasted on Sky Box Office.
