Australian Open champion Angelique Kerber advanced to the Wimbledon quarterfinals for the second time in three years Monday, while Serena and Venus Williams also advanced. VENUS IS BACKHer sister, Venus, is back in the Wimbledon quarterfinals for the first time since 2010. Kerber went on to beat Williams in the final for her first Grand Slam title. Kerber beat Misaki Doi 6-3, 6-1 at the start of the busiest day in Grand Slam tennis.
