The US Deputy Secretary of State reinforced the US interest in continuing to work with Angola in the strategic partnership programme. In addition to the meeting with the American official, the Angolan minister attended a meeting at one of the hotels in Addis Ababa with Rwanda President, Paul Kagame and other African leaders. Manuel Augusto is participating in the 32nd Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU), representing the President of the Republic, João Lourenço. The 32nd summit was opened on Sunday by the new chairman of the African Union, Egyptian Head of State Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, who succeeds the Rwandese President Paul Kagame. The event also had the usual presence of UN Secretary-General António Guterres and the president of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud-Abbas.
