Anne Chafe, CEO of The Rooms, is set to retire this May. Chafe has held leadership roles at the museum and art gallery for nearly two decades. Barbour described Chafe as a “thoughtful steward of one of the province’s most important public institutions.”Chafe is credited for leading The Rooms through a period of considerable transition. Chair of The Rooms board of directors, Margaret Allan, said Chafe's legacy will be long lasting. Barbour said the tourism department will consult with The Rooms board of directors and the Independent Appointments Commission on the recruitment process for a new CEO.
