Most often the bleed is due to “epistaxis digitorum” or picking at dried up mucous in the nose. You may find that your lipid levels have lowered after taking medication for a few months. It can take 2-3 months for prostate medication to take effect. Surgery is indicated only if there is no response to medication or if the prostate is very large.
