The Blues defender was crucial as his side battled to a 1-0 victory at the Estadio do Dragao in Porto. They were stopped in their tracks though when De Bruyne was forced off on the hour after clashing with the German. Rudiger has taken to social media and said: "I'm really sorry for @DeBruyneKev 's injury. De Bruyne was visibly upset by the injury which forced him off. Their manager Roberto Martinez was fuming after seeing the incident and felt Rudiger should've been shown a red card.
