Any Covid infections over a 14-day period in any housing block in Jordan and Yau Ma Tei will trigger a mandatory testing order for everyone in the building, according to reports. The news came amid a surge of Covid cases around the area, with residents of more than 10 buildings on Nathan Road, Jordan Road, Canton Road and Kansu Street are expected to be affected. There were more than 20 residents being infected with the coronavirus at an old tenement building on Reclamation Street earlier, with health officials fearing an outbreak in the area. “There are over 80 Covid infections recorded in the Yau Tsim Mong District in the past two weeks and we are monitoring the situation closely,” said a health official on Thursday. Currently, a mandatory testing order will be triggered when two or more unrelated Covid infections are recorded over a 14-day period in any housing block.
