CAIRO – 1 April 2021: The mummy of King Seti II, the fifth pharaoh of the 19th Dynasty, was discovered in 1898 in the Tomb of Amenhotep II (KV 35) in Valley of the Kings, Luxor. The mummy was found enshrouded in many layers of exceptionally fine linen. For the most part, Seti II’s facial features are well-preserved. His mummy will be transferred on April 3, from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir to the National Museum of the Egyptian Civilization in Fustat, during the Pharaohs’ Golden Parade, a grandiose event befitting the ancient Egyptian civilization and history.
