Aquaman was the top movie for the third weekend in a row, earning another $30.7 million (-41%) for a new 17-day domestic total of $259.721m. We’re probably looking at a $315m domestic finish (the ninth-biggest December grosser and the 22nd-biggest December release adjusted-for-inflation). That animated sequel will be Warner Bros.’ first release since Aquaman. It has passed Batman v Superman’s $873 million worldwide gross to become DC Films’ biggest grosser ever. That will make it the first non-Disney/non-Universal release do hit that mark since Paramount’s Transformers: Age of Extinction back in 2014.
