[Courtesy]In a Sacco, every member is eligible for election into the board of directors in the annual general meetings. George Ototo, the managing director of Kenya Union of Savings and Credit Cooperatives (Kuscco) says a Sacco gives one more than just a savings avenue and credit source. It is upon potential members, however, to do due diligence and ensure that they are not defrauded in a Sacco. Sacco members can borrow as much as three times their savings as long as they have guarantors.
