Army Arrests 18 Boko Haram Logistics Couriers in Borno

The Nigerian Army has arrested 18 individuals linked to the supply of logistics to Boko Haram terrorists in the North East, warning communities against collaboration with insurgents. In a statement shared by the agency on their official X account on Wednesday, the Army said the suspects were intercepted while moving through Gubio towards the Gudumbali axis, allegedly to deliver supplies to terrorist elements. The statement added that preliminary investigations indicated the individuals were drawn into the illicit trade largely due to personal economic challenges, highlighting how criminal groups exploit vulnerable persons. The Nigerian Army said, “Providing logistics, intelligence, or assistance to such elements remains a serious offence, with grave consequences for national security and the safety of innocent lives.”The Army urged citizens to support counter-terrorism operations, stating, “The effectiveness of ongoing operations depends greatly on the vigilance, cooperation, and active support of host communities. “The public is therefore urged to continue standing resolutely with the Armed Forces in rejecting terrorism in all its forms.”
