A total of 1,733 new students admitted to study various undergraduate programmes in Nigeria Army University, Biu (NAUB) in Gombe State have been matriculated for the 2019/2020 academic session. While speaking at the matriculation ceremony, the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof Fatima Tahir said that there was a substantial increase in 2019/2020 academic session where 1,733 were admitted against 1,016 in 2018/2019 academic year. Fatima Tahir further said that out of the number admitted this academic session, 235 were servicemen and women and implored the matriculating students to take their studies seriously because the institution has zero-tolerance for exams malpractice and no place for unionism within the university walls. The VC also assured parents and guidance that their wards are in safe hands as their security is guaranteed by the institution authorities. The COAS further said that the solution when fully mainstreamed are expected to give the Nigerian Army and indeed the nation a competitive edge against their counterparts all over the world.
