Two men, aged 54 and 32, have been arrested in connection with the attack, which took place shortly before 6pm outside a mosque in the market town of Altrincham, Greater Manchester. Nasser Kurdy, a 58-year-old consultant orthopaedic surgeon, was arriving at the Altrincham Islamic Centre for evening prayers when he was approached from behind and stabbed in the neck.
