Arroyo commends PNP for swift action on Batocabe slayBy The Manila TimesSPEAKER Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on Friday commended the Philippine National Police (PNP) for solving the killing of AKO Bicol Rep. Rodel Batocabe and his security aide “in such a short time.”Batocabe, along with SPO1 Orlando Diaz, was shot dead after giving gifts to senior citizens and disabled persons in Daraga, Albay on December 22. “I would like to commend the PNP for solving the murder of our colleague, AKO Bicol Rep. Rodel Batocabe and his police escort SPO1 [Senior Police Officer] Orlando Diaz. There should be no let up and stone left unturned until justice is served,” she said. The PNP filed murder and frustrated murder charges against Daraga Mayor Carlwyn Baldo — who was tagged as the alleged mastermind in Batocabe’s murder — and several others before the Albay Provincial Prosecutor’s Office. PNP chief Oscar Albayalde identified the suspects as Henry Yuson alias Romel/Eno, Rolando Arimado alias RR, Emmanuel Rosello alias Boboy, Jaywin Babor alias Jie, Danilo Muella alias Manoy Dan, and Christopher Naval alias Tuping.
