Arsène Wenger’s FA Cup winners will have played seven matches before their campaign starts, playing games in Australia and China before returning to north London for the annual Emirates Cup this weekend and then on to Wembley for the Community Shield. That’s nothing compared to West Bromwich Albion, who have ten matches to get through before their opening Premier League game against Bournemouth on August 12, although their total distance covered — 17,393 miles — pales next to Arsenal’s tally.
