The 30-year-old will be allowed to leave on a free transfer in 2022 if no suitable offers come in for him during this transfer window. This is despite being a regular in the starting XI since arriving at Arsenal in 2017, playing 170 games in all competitions and scoring 65 goals. The Frenchman cost Arsenal around £47m four years ago and they would obviously not get anything like that for him now. Both Maitland-Niles and Nelson are deemed surplus to requirements at the Emirates and offers will be considered for both players who came through the Arsenal youth system. While Arsenal could still be persuaded to let him go, it would have to be for a substantial fee, while the other players are actively available for transfer.
