Normally players receive at least four weeks off before returning to training – longer if they are not involved in internationals – but Tierney has elected to return after just three. Previewing the clash with Rangers, Arteta said: ‘It’s a very good game for me especially because I played there and it is a really special place. ‘We’ve trained really hard and you could see that the players were a little bit leggy. I think we conceded the first goal, an accident, and the second goal was clearly offside.
