File photo of journalist Dil Monowara Monu CollectedMonu joined journalism as a sub-editor of ‘Begum’ in 1974Article 19 has mourned the passing away of Dil Monowara Monu, a senior journalist and former executive editor of the fortnightly feminist magazine “Ananya.”The international human rights organization issued a press release in this regard on Monday. Monu, also a women journalist leader, died at the Bangladesh Institute of Research and Rehabilitation in Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders (Birdem) Hospital in the early hours of Monday. She was the vice-president of the Women's Journalist Center and the Media Secretary of the Central Committee of the Bangladesh Mahila Parishad. Monu joined journalism as a sub-editor of "Begum" in 1974. Dil Monowara Monu took active part in many Article 19 initiatives and activities.
