As her parent company Mattel MAT turns 75, the famous and at times, controversial fashion doll is still the number one product driving sales. This was the year they introduced Black Barbie and a range of Hispanic Barbies from Mexico, Puerto Rico, Peru, among other places. In 1990 Mattel remedied this complaint with Black Barbie after a focus group of African American parents, kids and childhood experts. In 2010, even more diverse Black Barbies were released with the So In Style line.
