“I was shocked by some of the stuff,” Dirk Nowitzki said, via the Dallas Morning News. “Just really, really disappointed that in our franchise — my franchise — that stuff like that was going on. “What I missed — and it was truly a f—up on my part because I was not there [at the Mavericks’ office] — I looked at everything anecdotally. “I think Mark is trying to step up and lead this franchise in the right direction,” Nowitzki told the newspaper. As they seek to do damage control, the Mavericks have hired Evan Krutoy and Anne Milgram to lead the investigation.
