Hill stations including Manali, Shimla, Kufri and Mussoorie are overwhelmed as heatwaves hit the northern part of the country. People from other states are visiting hill stations in large numbers to get rid of scorching heat. The pictures from the hill station are trending with hashtags “third wave” and “Manali”, on Twitter. In viral photos, tourists maintaining no social distancing are seen on the streets of Manali. The Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Kamal Verma said that “the tourists were on their way to Manali for which they took a U-turn, however, taking a U-turn before Victory Tunnel is not allowed.
