Ashley Joan Ellerin and Samuel Joseph Boyar were married April 27 at the Hotel ZaZa in Houston. Mrs. Boyar, 30, is a vice president for corporate tax planning in the Houston office of BBVA Compass Bancshares, an international bank based in Birmingham, Ala. She graduated magna cum laude from Syracuse and received a law degree from the University of Houston. She is a daughter of Sharon L. Ellerin and Seth R. Ellerin of Houston. Her mother is an administrator in the business office of the Shlenker School of Congregation Beth Israel, also in Houston. The bride’s paternal grandmother, Betty Weinberg Ellerin, was the first woman justice of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, First Department, and its first woman presiding justice.
