A new restaurant planned for eastern Sioux Falls would offer a range of Eritrean and Ethiopian-style dishes. Asmara Bar & Restaurant would occupy the storefront at 1503 E. 10th St., in the same strip mall as Mogadishu Grocery Store and G&M Beauty Plus. City planning officials approved a conditional-use permit this week, allowing the restaurant's owners to serve beer and wine. Asmara would serve food between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. daily, with drinks available from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. The menu includes a selection of wats, or Ethiopian stews, as well as a rice blend and other dishes native to same region of Africa, such as dulet and gored gored.
