There was no immediate statement from authorities on the incident. Roads in the Bole district were blocked off, residents said, but by 0630 GMT, calm appeared to have returned to the area, they said. But the changes have not stopped ethnically-charged violence that has escalated since he was named premier - including in his own native Oromiya region where protesters first took to the streets in 2015 over perceived marginalisation by the state.
