An outpouring of support has come for the family of community healthcare advocate Paul Cressey after his tragic death on Waiheke Island last week. Cressey, 80, worked tirelessly for more than 30 years to advance the health of children in Auckland. He died after tripping down some stairs and hitting his head following a lunch with close friends and wife Sheryn, on Tuesday. Cressey was instrumental in establishing Ronald McDonald houses in New Zealand, following the death of his son Carl from leukaemia, aged nine. This was prompted after Paul’s return to New Zealand following his son’s medical treatment in Australia.
